I'm basing it on my research. I'm happy to be corrected by you that AIKO are 'extremely low end' if there is any evidence you are able to share?
Apart from their deceptive marketing on shading performance and their subsequent attack on the YouTuber who published the video, I'm afraid information on Aiko's performance is sparse given how new they are to the panel marketing game. Based on these dodgy practices however, I'm not optimistic that they offer disproportionate value, especially considering installers pay ~£45 per panel wholesale.

There are published studies about some of Aiko's peer brands that degrade more than known quality counterparts or that Aiko also engages in unethical slave labour practices, but I suspect that didn't come up when you were doing your own research?

    -  10 x 400w LG + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial Panels + SE 3680 HD Wave Inverter + SE Optimizers. SE London.
    -  Triple aspect. (22% ENE/ 33% SSE/ 45% WSW)
    -  Viessmann 200-W on Advanced Weather Comp. (the most efficient gas boiler sold)

Feel free to DM me if I can help with any energy saving!

Sorry - I'm still not clear - what evidence do you have that AIKO and DMEGC are extremely low end panels? Your last post seems to be a collection of - marketing concerns, studies of other brands, labour practices and an assumption you've made based on the wholesale price.

That's a good summary! Both Aiko and DMEGC (even lower) sit at one end of the price spectrum. Said another way, they are among the cheapest panels an installer can purchase i.e. low end, and have replaced Trina & Jinko, as those brands continue to fall out of favour with the wholesale market.

It's one thing to be keen about your upcoming system (and I hope it performs well for you), but to rubbish cautionary advice expressed by those with considerable real world experience, based solely on an installer's YouTube videos, comes across as a bit naive.

What ROI did your potential installers predict? Normally there's enough information to gain some kind of insight, though that does NOT mean that these should be taken at face value

    Regards

With the cheaper quote, they are predicting that the system will generate approx. 4.5k kWh per year (so over 1k kWh over our current use). The more expensive one believe that the set up they are suggesting will generate just over 100% of our current use (approx. 3.5k kWh)

I still don't see any evidence they're low quality. Can you share some?
