Okay, perfect. Thank you so much for the quick reply.Car1980 said:Yes I would ignore and just look out for a court claim.
BW Legal don't always follow through. I have two LOCs from them in my drawer from years ago.

Hey guys,so something weird is going on.We received yet another Letter of Claim from BWLegal in the mail today. Odd, right?
And then I noticed something, so I sorted through all letters we have received since the beginning of this:We received letters dating back to 16th November 2024:1x from CPM UK Car Park Management for the "Obstructive Parking" for Bike w/ Number Plate ABCDEFG with issue date 19th October 2024Following 4x Letters from Debt Recovery Plus for the same "Issue" and Bike w/ Number Plate ABCDEFG, between 08/01/2025 and 25/02/2025 with Parking Charge issue date 30/09/2024After that the first BWLegal, a Letter of Claim, arrived, BUT w/ date of Contravention 03/02/2023 and our car Number Plate 1234567 and "Client Reference ABC123"Then we received another BWLegal on 22/08/2025, Date of Contravention 30/09/2024, again Bike Number Plate ABCDEFG, but "Client Reference DEF456"Now it gets interesting:We received a reminder paying letter from BWLegal on 18/09/2025, Date of Contravention 06/12/2024, for our Car, Number Plate 1234567, now for the reason of "Not displaying a Valid Permit" (which isn't true as the permit is like "glued" to the front screen to be visible even from afar). But with "Client Reference GHI789"So for the "Not displaying a valid parking permit" we never received any letters from CPM or Debt Recovery Plus. Mind you, we are living at the Estate since 2023 and the car was displaying a parking permit from day one of moving, as well as the V5C being registered with the same date of moving. And today, 04/10/2025 we received yet another Letter of Claim, Date of Contravention 30/09/2024, for Bike, w/ Number Plate ABCDEFG with "Client Reference JKL012"So to recap:CPM issued "Obstructive Parking Charge" in October 2024, we received "proof" in form of pictures with the letter of the bike in question. We received Debt Recovery Plus letters also for the bike. And we received BWLegal letters first for the car, as it turns out for something we didn't even know anything about because the first Letter of Claim from them did only mention the car but never the reason for the charge in the first place. Following letters about the bike, then car again and then a Letter of Claim for the Bike. And with totally different dates as well, 19/10/2024, 30/09/2024, 03/02/2023 and 06/12/2024 , FOUR different Client References and on top of that, none of that is in order. To be honest, I feel this kind of confusion is deliberate but it would also be highly in our favour in case this goes to court, because BWLegal can't make up their mind, for what we are actually charged and what Client and Reference they are actually referring to!?Anyway, I will not react to that Letter of Claim either and see what happens. At this point I actually WANT a Judge to see this.Have a great weekend everyone.2 -
Hello everyone,
there is an update on this. This morning we received the official CCJ from HM Courts and Tribunal Service.
The Particulars of the Claim are as follows:
" The Claim against the Defendant is for XX (amount) for 2 parking Charges following breaches which occured between 06/12/2024 and 19/03/2025 on private land (lawfully occupied by the claimant at XX Estate by the driver of a vehicle registration mark XXXXXXX. The Claimant's Terms and conditions (displayed on signage) offered the driver a contractual license and was accepted by the driver upon entry and subsequently breached on each occasion. Driver's breaches: Failure to display a valid ticket/permit. Defendant is liable as driver or keeper per SCH. 4 PoFA2012. The Claim includes XX (amount) contractual recovery costs as set out in the terms and conditions and the ATA Code of Practice. "
A few things to add from my end: The claim started with a motorbike as you may remember with a different number plate and then switched to the car at some point after my partner accidentally gave the number plate of the car to BWLegal when they called her, but for which we never seen any proof as we have a valid parking ticket for the car that is clearly taped and visible from the outside.
What is the best course of action on this? Any advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you. :)

Oh sorry, CCC, yes correct. My bad. Do I need to fill out all the forms they sent with this as well? Sorry but my dyslexia is not really an advantage when reading the Newbies thread.
Issue date is 25 June 2026
I have changed the title as per your recommendations. Thank you. :)

Do not fill out any paperwork, put the paperwork in a drawer after logging into MCOL via your government gateway account and complete the AOS online stage ASAP, following the advice in the 8 steps in the first post in the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad
Once completed, use the defence template in the 2nd post in that thread, definitely adapting or drafting your own paragraph 3 ( and possibly adding an ending to paragraph 2 as well. ) no need to rush this early stage, so take your time with paragraph 3
The rest of the template defence is used, no changes , making 10 paragraphs only
No war and peace stories, don't be tempted to write a novel, save it all for your Witness statement in several months time
So, less is more. ?

" The Claimant's Terms and conditions (displayed on signage) offered the driver a contractual (license) ….."
Very pedantic observation - is (that word) how they spelt it in the PoC?
