Who are my solar panels registered with?

I've recently bought a property that has 12 solar panels on the roof. They have been bought and are owned outright, and are included with the property. My current energy supplier (and the existing one also is OVO. They have no knowledge of the solar panels, so have advised me to find out who they are registered with.... how do I go about this?

Your sellers should have provided this information. When we sold our house last year we had to supply all the information with regards to the solar panels we had installed including who was supplying the FIT payments and a copy of the MCS certificate.Did your solicitor not ask for any paperwork with regard to the panels?1

Is it a new build , how old is property0

The property was sold by probate... the only paperwork we could get was product manual of the batteries (PylonTech US 2000). There is a box in the loft with GoodWe on it. I've phoned them and they've confirmed our location, but have said it's not connected to the internet.0

That will be the inverter, essentially the main control box. It won't be connected to the internet unless you are using the same router that the previous occupant had, as it almost certainly connects by WiFi (although an Ethernet connection is possible with the right adaptor). I have a GoodWe inverter; if you tell me the model number I will tell you how to connect to it. This is nothing to do with who your panels are registered with but you will have so much more control if you can connect to the inverter.HighChaperal said:...There is a box in the loft with GoodWe on it. do you have a separate export meter?0

Per the MCS standard, there should be a diagram of your solar panel installation displayed (usual stuck to the wall or some other permanent part of the building) near your fuse box. If that's still in place it will tell you the name of the installer and the date of installation. From the kit you've so far described, it's likely that the system was installed this decade and that you won't have a FIT associated with it.You should be able to get a copy of the MCS Certificate from MCS themselves. There may be a charge for this.Who's your electricity supplier? They'd be my first point of contact to see if there are export payments being paid.N. Hampshire, he/him.
