Statute Barred Help

Hi all, I am new to the forum, and looking for some advice.
I think I may have made a massive error, I received a letter from ACI
concerning a credit card debt from TSB. It is from 2010ish and this is the
first I have heard from anyone about it in approx 8 years. I have never replied
or contacted anybody ever about it.
I decided to send them the statute barred letter as I "assumed" it would be SB.
After reading here, I am pretty sure I should have sent the prove it letter.
By acknowledging it, have I reset the clock, and caused my self huge problems?

Also forgot to sign the SB letter I sent, mentioning this, as I read elsewhere
since, that communications need to be signed.

Thank You for any replies.

ACI are chasing some staggeringly old debts at the moment.

It is best not to assert something is statute barred until you know the relevant dates and you are correct that a prove it, or just ignoring them, would have been better.

But this is likely statute barred and once it is, it stays that way. So you should be ok.

I agree that you`ve probably done no harm here, once a debt is barred by statute, it can`t be "unbarred".

If they bother to write back to you, and you need further help, ask on here.

Good Morning Guys, Thank You once again for your comments.
Received a letter from ACI this morning, saying they were sending this
back to TSB and I would not hear from ACI again concerning this.

Thank You for providing the letter I sent, even if I should have sent prove it first!

    Thank You.
