Morning Gers and all to follow
Another lovely day in the making yesterday it got up to 25deg at one point it was so lovely and warm.
Rob coming today and we are off to work in the cafe I think we are making a malteaser slice today which he will like doing as the biscuits need to be broken into small pieces, he is very good at doing precise things.
Dinner tonight will be sausage mash and veg it’s probably too warm for that but I am sure it will be ok dd is off today so she will probably cook.
Boiler is being serviced today chap coming between 10 & 12 so dd will be here to let him in.
I slept so much better last night after having two nights with very little sleep I needed a good night as I was shattered.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all! Sunny! Surprise! I'm off out with friends today, we're visiting a stately home, should be a nice day out. Didn;t get to the allotment yesterday but I did lay some weed membrane, group together the greenhouse struts, water, sow some seeds, throw some logs on the front garden to encourage a bit more wildlife but that was it. Never mind, tomorrow is another day
We're also going to the cinema tonight, OH and I, to watch Thunderbolts so I have to pick him up from work because the showing is at half ten..There'll be half an hour of adverts anyway first.
Gers, thanks for the new start, let's see what this month brings...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi9 -
Morning again - outside is still overcast and not as warm as yesterday, still, it's a good day so far. This is the view of Arran from my car on the way down to my hairdresser yesterday. The clouds lifted during the morning so there were big patches of blue. I ended up with a very small haircut (I mean not much taken off) and a re-pasting. There's every chance that I'll want another haircut before the next colour. This morning is the final nail appointment, so a soak off. The lovely young women is going off for three or four months, she's JW and it's a church thing I think. Anyway, it'll give my nails a wee breather so my fingers are crossed that they are now stronger and much less prone to breaking / splitting. Later on I've booked another ear suction session and have specs to collect.@Ruby - malteaser slice sounds tasty. Was it you trying Greek lemon chicken yesterday?Must a'wa for now. Take care everyone, hugs to all.10

Morning @Gers and happy new month everyone.I had a great nights sleep - not going to suggest it’s because DH has gone camping so I had the bed to myself! I had a lovely bath last night as still aching from my hiking and gardening pursuits.Non-work day today so I’m priming the wood in DD’s bedroom. To think we expected her to be back in there by the end of January!! Oh well, it’ll get done eventually. DS2 is staying tonight as he’s dog-sitting tomorrow. It’s mustard creamy pork tonight with cabbage mmmmmm
Glad you’ve had a call already @TravellingAbuela if it’s anything like here, they sub the work to a private firm so it’s a good service.Enjoy the (late!) movie @-taff - no way could I go at that time and keep awake!!Have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another glorious day forecast, all day sun and 26 deg. I'm trying not to get used to this lovely weather as I know it never lasts long unfortunately.
Well against all the odds yesterday's news on DF's DS in Oz was good! But she is alternating between elation and anger. When he went to the docs 3 weeks ago with the lump on his tongue the doc said immediately he could tell it was cancer and he would lose his tongue, need feeding tubes etc and was referred to the cancer hospital for further scans etc. Back at the consultant yesterday for the results of the 3 scans he was told all 3 were clear and he could see changes in the lump which pointed to it not being a cancerous growth after all. Biopsy done to confirm. DD is so relieved but equally angry that they have all gone through 3 weeks of hell due to the docs snap diagnosis without any tests being done first.
Caravan trip postponed until tomorrow now as DD has to get a car problem sorted out today. She hopes its just a minor job! Anyway tomorrow is better for me as I seem to have lots of stuff still to sort first. New month banking will get done first, before a quick whizz round with duster and vac. That's all it seems to get these days, there's always something better to do .
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts! xx

Lovely picture Gers
Another early walk for Bdog - took my camera but of course didn’t see the hares or curlews today! I did see some red legged partridge and my birdsong app heard a skylark.Back to postal vote opening today - it’ll just be the last few that came in this morning so don’t expect to be there long which is good cos I’m tired and also have loads to do. Walked nearly 8k steps just in college yesterday between invigilation and running around after other people.Have a good day all

Morning folks and thanks for the start @Gers. The lovely weather continues, it's already blue sky and sunshine with no breeze at all. Today could see highs of 26 deg with the slight chance of a shower this afternoon, no doubt triggered by the heat.
Yesterday's shopping all put away and listed so I'm fully stocked up again. Looking through the month's budget I've overspent, not so much on food but stuff like soap powder, bleach, tissues, toilet rolls etc. Nowt to be done about it though as they were all needed so I'll try to pull a bit back this month.
I did manage to wash the bottom half of the last wall but postponed the top bit - my knee was definitely telling me to avoid the step ladder! And I didn't get out either. Instead I sat outside enjoying the sunshine whilst people watching, one of my favourite things to do. The young woman over the road was having her car valeted by two young chaps who do an excellent and thorough job. It wasn't long before their T-shirts came off but I wasn't thinking so much about eye candy- more in Mother Hen mode hoping they'd slapped on sunscreen as I watched their backs and shoulders slowly turning pink and then pinker still.
Today's plans are fluid although the bathroom could do with a bit of a blitz so maybe I'll do that first and then yesterday's postponed trip out. Tea tonight is cooked gammon slices, egg and lightly fried sliced leftover potatoes, chocolate mousse for afters.
@Ruby - I know what you mean about sausage & mash perhaps not being ideal fodder in this weather. I was thinking the same about the liver, bacon & onion casserole the other day but I enjoyed it anyway. Glad you had a better night's sleep.
@-taff - Enjoy your day out, I can't believe you're having a day off!
@TA - That's such good news for your DF and her DS, I can't imagine how relieved they must be. Fingers crossed the biopsy result comes back clear too.
Time for another cuppa and then I'll make a start. Enjoy your day and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all, the sun is out again. I didn't manage to post yesterday as we were at the 'van all day. I cleaned every crook and nanny of the inside and re-filled it with the seating, carpets etc while Mr Fix It did some outside maintenance.
This morning I have the wm going with a dark wash and I've stripped the bed, the bedding will be washed to take advantage of the sun although we're forecast for an odd shower later, can't see it myself but you never know. I'll re-make the bed later but I'll put on a lower tog duvet, hopefully the weather won't go back to freezing now, but knowing my luck it'll be -5 tomorrow !
I didn't sleep much last night as I was coughing plus I've lost my voice, probably because of the heat. so I will be on a go slow today.
TA good news from Oz but grrr to the doctor.
RedRuby sorry I forgot to say what a lovely garden.
Enjoy your day everyone, hugs to anyone in need.
