No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries May 2025

Welcome @jennypennysaver! It says about painting nails in the opening post at the start of the month! @VALM is definitely the queen of finishing polishes! I'm the queen of buying them- I'm terrible, they are my weakness!!!
I'm eying up quite a few ILNP at the moment but trying to stay strong, at least till next month when I get paid again, as have had a lot of outgoing this month already! I don't quite count them in this tally of skincare/makeup ins n outs- I have set myself a limit, but mostly if I buy less than last year I'll be happy!!!
UUs- Batiste Dry Shampoo - Medium & Brunette 200ml: HG, bought the replacement at the end of April as I knew this was running out
- Carex Hand Gel in Love Hearts (50ml): too floral, wouldn't buy again.
- Glisten & Glow Top Coat: So gloopy it ruined a mani, and I never have any luck adding thinner to top coat, so calling this done. Has a litle left, but not much, and its now unusable.
- Sanex 0 shower gel- 450ml: Got the replacement already at the end of April as I knew I was low.
- Boots Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover 200ml: ditto.
Throw Away- Garnier Ultimate Blends Plumping Hair Food Watermelon 3-in-1 Fine Hair Mask Treatment 400ml: Went kind of lumpy…. So I threw it away. Didn't love it though, I prefer a thick hair mask and this isn't thick at all.
INS- Batiste Dry Shampoo- Dark 200ml: My friend gave this to me, she didn't want it so I said I would have it as I love a bit of dry shampoo! It'll be a bit too dark really but I'll make do!
- Carex hand sanitiser - Moisture (50ml): Needed one for work bag, one for my doggie bag, and one for the husbands bag, so picked this up at Tesco
- Prism Polish- I Need to Scream: UK indie brand that is basically the same price as Essie.... so I'm calling these "mainstream", which makes 3 of my 4 allowable mainstreams for the year.
I had to though, they're Handmaids Tale inspired, which has always been one of my favourite books, and now it's so very topical, I had to get some! This one is a stunning magnetic- has a black base with red/goldy brownish shimmer- will look stunning in Autumn, magnetised or not!
- Prism Polish- Let's Off-Fred: A blackened violet filled with a rainbow of iridescent flakies.
And I hit two eyeshadow pans, both matte shades! One in my XX Revolution Kombucha big palette- shade 20 (they don't have names, just numbers)- a soft peachy orange blending out shade, and another in my BB Pastels Palette - shade First Light, which is a yellow pastel, again fab for blending out my brighter yellows or oranges.

Everything is going slowly though I have TA some items and acquired some from my daughter:-
TA:-
Colourpop How Far Ill Go Supershock eyeshadow - i depotted this which killed it. It became clumpy so that I couldnt apply it.
Wet n Wild Fuschia lip liner. Must have dried out as it broke when sharpenrd.
OPI Alpine Snow mini. Not a fan of pastel polishes as they are hard work to apply.
Bath & Body Works Snowflakes in Cashmere body cream. The packaging was flaking. I tried cutting the tube open to scoop product out but it had dried up.
INS
Nails Inc nail polish remover in a pot, KVD Tattoo liner and ELF eyebrow gel. Love all these products so glad i dont have to spend money on them
Uu - Lacura eye cream. Love this but have a partially used Q&A cream to finish next.
Hit pan in a MAC eyeshadow - Cant Escape This from the Mariah Carey quad from years ago. Intend to depot this then throw the one remaining eyeshadow put as its lost its pigmentation.

UUs
- The Ordinary- Multi-Peptide serum for Hair Density: As per, I didn't use this frequently enough to know if it helped. Going to use my Ordinary Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% Serum in it's place, as I hear copper peptides are good for stimulating hair growth- if peptides are good, copper ones must be better!
- The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 30ml: Love me some rosehip seed oil. Going to replace as have no other facial oil (except my retinal one, which is not a nightly one!), but going to order from my fave place for oils- Naturally Thinking- great oils, and heaps cheaper than The Ordinary!
- NYX Professional Makeup Pro Fix Stick - 0.3 Yellow: There is a teeny tiny nubbin left but trying to use it is really hard no, so calling this done. Replacement bought already as I knew ths was running out.
- Sure deodorant - Cotton Dry- 250ml
- L’Oréal Paris Elvive Bond Repair Conditioner 150ml: Bought the replacement at the end of last month.
- Carex Hand Gel in Love Hearts (50ml): Another one!
- La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 - 100ml: Hubbie used this too at the end. Like to always have one of these for those feeling sensitive times, so will purchase another when I get paid.
- Sure Cotton Dry Nonstop Protection Compressed Antiperspirant Aerosol 75ml: After my full size one ran out, scrounged up this almost empty travel one and finished that too!
INS- Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless oil control powder: Current one has huge pan, again, will run out this month, so replacing it now
- Naturally Thinking- Rosehip seed oil - Cold Pressed 100ml: My replacement facial oil. The Ordinary one is £9.70 at Boots for 30ml, and this is £9 for 100ml, so it's also waaaaaay more economical!
- NT Sea Buckthorn oil - 100ml: I've missed using my sea buckthorn oil in my routine so since I was getting the rosehip, added this to cart. It's VERY orange so will dilute it by making a mixture of the two oils- lovely anti-aging combo!
- NT Grapeseed oil 250ml: Getting this to dilute if I need, but also to mix in with moisturiser once my vaseline body oil gel stuff is done
- Sure Deodorant- Bright Bouquet- 200ml: Wouldn't have picked this scent but have run out completely so had to pick up whatever they had in the Tesco express on the way in to work!

Oh might have to look into the NT oils @Clutterbug07 if you rate them - those prices are definitely quite economical.
Have a few UU's from the last couple of weeks:
Bayliss & Harding Grapefruit Soap - was ok, got it as a Christmas gift a while ago. Replaced with another one.
SKIN1004 Madagascan Centella Water Sun SPF 50++ - Think I prefer the Garnier invisible serum SPF for daily use but this is ok. Have replaced with a second one as got a deal on a duo pack.
Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser - got this as a mini free with something and have to say I did really like it. Was a lot better for my skin than the JS Matinee Gel Cleanser and also works out a bit cheaper than that. However have replaced with Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel which I also got free and my skin is absolutely loving, which it would because this stuff is pricey! 😂
The Body Shop British Rose Plumping Mask - WBA, gave my skin a nice plumping sensation but trying to hold off on buy TBS products until they've sorted out their rewards program
Oh K! Watermelon Exfoliating Foot Masks - love these for resetting my feet ahead of the summer. Off on a hen do in a couple of weeks and things are peeling nicely 😉
Byoma Brightening Serum - HG, but have replaced with a Beauty of Joseon serum that I also like but think I'll definitely go back to the Byoma when this one is finished
JVN Nurture Hair Mask Mini - was ok, did the job of putting some moisture back in my hair after I'd used some heat on it for the first time so far this year
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Away Finishing Powder - HG pressed powder. Have another refill ready to go but DH picked up one of the No7 dupes for me when he was repurchasing some of his facewash and they had 3 for 2 on. So I'm using that first.
Wild Deodorant - use it every day, replaced with another refill
Random bath salts - another Christmas gift from years ago, smelt like magnolia which was quite pleasant.
Not sure there's a lot else to be finished this month, maybe a hand cream if I'm lucky!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20171 -

Hi everyone,
Newbie here,
I just wanted to say this is just the sort of thread I need to rein me in on toiletries I've so many to use up.
Hopefully I can start in the June one as I'm a bit late for May if you don't mind 😊
Also wanted to thank @Clutterbug07 for the Naturally Thinking reccomendation , I've just had a look on their website and it looks lovely.2 -
