Best way to get to Lord's cricket ground from Solihull at peak time

We (2-3 adults plus 1 student) need to be at Lord's Cricket Ground at 10am on a Friday morning in couple of weeks.  Usually we would use the Chiltern Railways to travel from Solihull into Marylebone but the fares are astronomical (around £75 per adult).  I have played around with split ticketing or driving part of the way and travelling from Warwick Parkway/High Wycombe but can't bring the price down enough.

So now I'm thinking to drive down the M40 and park on the outskirts of London (I know this will likely mean we need to pay the ULEZ charge).  I think our best option is going to parking at Uxbridge (I'll pre-book a Park on My Drive type spot) and getting the tube in (Metropolitan Line and then Jubilee line).  Is there anywhere better than this for quick and easy travel into St John's Wood tube station? Thanks

What about a FlixBus ? Price from Birmingham to Finchley Road looks to be £7 (you'd just need a hop on the jubilee line down to St John's Wood

Parking at Tube stations isn't expensive.   My last visit to Wembley I drove and parked at Croxley Station near Watford and caught Met line to Wembley.

Hillingdon Station (one in from Uxbridge)
    1. Next to A40
    2. Big car park (not too expensive)
Going to Baker Street avoids changing to Jubilee line but is about a 13-15 minute walk to the ground
