    For many roles the employer cannot lawfully discriminate against an applicant with legally spent convictions. However there is a long list of exceptions, including some really quite surprising ones.

    As has been asked above, are you sure only a Basic disclosure was required?

    In the real world of course it is difficult for an employer to "forget" something they now know and any unlawful discrimination would be difficult (but not necessarily impossible) to prove.
