New Tax Code as a new state pensioner

I've been receiving my employer pension since 2021 when I retired early.
Since February this year I began receiving my state pension.
My employer pension tax code has just changed to 6L and I'm trying to find out what it means!
Any help gratefully received!
Thanks

The state pension is taxable but they pay it without deducting tax.  So the overall tax due has to be collected from your other pension.

In essence the state pension has used up most of your personal tax allowance.

It means the first £69 (£5.75/month) of your employer pension will be paid without tax being deducted.

Your (taxable) State Pension will be paid gross by DWP with no tax deducted from it.

This suggests that your projected yearly state pension amount is just under your personal allowance (£12,570). I get a slightly larger state pension, and so I have a "K" code, effectively a negative available personal allowance.

If you don't have a personal tax account, it might be handy to register for one: https://www.gov.uk/personal-tax-account
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

HMRC normally send a letter with the tax code notification that explains what it means.
