PayPal asking for list of creditors

Hello 👋

I’m in the process of setting up my own DMP, got a few defaults now and setting up payment plans generally seems ok so far without too much hassle.

I am being asked for lots of information though by PayPal, I’ve provided them with my budget sheet and offered them a fair share of my remaining budget after expenses. They are now asking for a full list of creditors, balances owed and what I am paying to them. Are they allowed to ask for this? I don’t particularly want to give them all of this information although I do have it all on a spreadsheet.

I also keep asking for them to send me bank details so I can start making payments as they have defaulted the account but they don’t send anything and I don’t have access to my online account anymore.

Advice gratefully received.
With thanks as always

Just tell them your other creditors are none of their business and you will not provide them. Tell them as soon as they provide their payment details you will start paying them.

It's a standard thing in my experience that when setting up a DMP you provide a financial statement that shows how much you can afford to pay.  A creditor will like to know that they are being treated fairly so that if you owe them £1000 and want to pay £10 a month that that is on same footing as someone else - to whom you owe £500 so will only be paying £5.  If you owe paypal £1000 and offer £10 but they see that the creditor owed £500 is getting £100 they will likely say no to your proposal.

So what are they going to do if you don't provide the information but start paying them a small percentage?  Possibly nothing because at least they are getting something.  Possibly they will send your debt to a debt collection company who may or may not be happy to take the small percentage.

I haven’t been asked for this yet so I’m not finding it the norm but maybe I’ve just been lucky and had it easy so far. I do get it but you could make those numbers up to fit your budget anyway surely?
Hmmm suppose I should just send it
