I booked a train journey for 5 travelling today, this was booked as a travel card to include the underground.
When I booked the tickets, I selected the 10:24, however when we got to the station this train had been cancelled. We tried to get the 10:55, but due capacity we were unable to board. We then had to wait until the 11:55 as the one in between was also cancelled.
We had been due to arrive at 11:44, however we finally got in at 13:16. Will I be able to claim delay repay? My booking confirmation has the suggested train as 10:24
I have only once tried to claim before, and this was rejected, despite the train telling us it was a sufficient delay, my claim was rejected as they believed it was a 14 minute delay not 16.
If I can claim the 50% back it should be over £100 refund - not sure how they calculate the underground component??
Many thanks

Yes, you can claim. Which railway company as although the rules are the same they all have a different web interface. You put in the details of the train you intended to catch (ie 10.24) which they will know as cancelled and your London rail station destination, just the details for the outward journey. They will work out the rest, though they will probably assume you caught the 10.55 which depending on the timing of that may limit you to a 30 minute delay. Don't worry about the tube element, they pay on just the total value of the ticket so with a travel card you actually gain.1

Our return train was also delayed, so claimed for that one too.Make £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

GWR came back yesterday and today on both claims, both approved and refund in process in 2-3 working days.
They didn't agree the more than 90 minute delay, but receiving £154 back against £247 ticketsMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023
