I have been given a BM from my mum who didn't use it very much, who in turn got given it from her mum (who also didnt use it!) its a good BM in good condition. I havent heard of the make before (and cant bloomin remember it now!) but my question is that i have seen reciepes for a panasonic, can i use these receipes in my BM that isnt a panasonic?
I have made good white bread in my BM but cannot get brown bread right, it sinks in the middle so was wondering if there are any better receipes i can use.
When im making my brown bread I am using the wholemeal setting is this right as its brown not wholemeal flour that im using?
Sorry for all the questions but i am really wanting to make myown bread and not pay a fortune for it in the shops

Hi Glitterycloud,
I have found it tends to be trial and error. When I used my Morphy Richards machine, I found it wasn't great at cooking loaves - so I tended to only make dough and put in the oven when I was cooking dinner. Always had success that way!
I have recently upgraded to a Panasonic bread maker and am getting used to that one all over again! Have had one brick and one decent loaf!
I think it sinking in the middle is usually caused by too much liquid, but I am sure more experts will come along and offer some advice. If not, I would reduce the water next time and see if it helps.
I would definitely try out the panasonic recipes in other machines, just ensure you don't use the measurements for the XL sized loaf in case its too much for your machine capacity. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!
