Hello and happy Easter 🐣
my husband filed from BR on 9th April, and paid the fee. He hadn’t heard anything yet.

It says up to 28 days, will he simply just have to keep an eye on his emails for notification that he is bankrupt? Is that when a bankruptcy order is given …. Or is it after hearing from official receiver.
He is poorly and on benefits, at present they go into his account and he is aware that he will likely have to open another account but I’ve said to do nothing until he knows the bankruptcy order has been made.
He is anxious, as he read it’s often “done” with 2-5 days. I’ve reassured him it can be 28, but any words of wisdom would be helpful. His biggest worry is that his benefit will land and account will freeze before he can withdraw and then open new account, Ive said just log into bank account each day benefit is due, as soon as he can’t log in that will mean his account has been frozen, but I’m assuming that he should receive an email prior or same time that account is frozen, am I correct?
thank you

It's only been 6 working days and all of them when kids are off school and every organisation is short staffed. So no need to panic just yet!! I've seen DROs, which are simpler, take up to a week so to say a bankruptcy might take 28 is not unreasonable.
I'm not sure why he shouldn't go ahead and open a new basic bank account. And get his payments changed into that. Don't use the switch system and ensure it's with a different banking group than any other account his name is on. I'm not knowledgeable about bankruptcy but this is a standard thing for those going on to a DRO.

When it doesn't get approved in 2 days, it's usually because the person hasn't pressed the submit button!0

Insolvency service is still waaay understaffed at the moment....so thats no help either meaning some offices have passed cases to other receivers in other areas and new stuff is taking longeras others have said it'll be fine...its simply a case of someone inputting stuff onto the insolvency site as fatbelly suggestsPhilnicandamy's OH and mum to a two year old god help me!
