Dishwasher broken fix or replace with which

Our dishwasher has stopped working. It is a Neff integrated one which was in the house when we moved in 7 years ago so I am guessing it is 8-10 years old.
I can't decide if I should try to get it fixed or buy a new more eco friendly one.
It cold fills. All washes are at 65 degrees but different lengths.
What would you do?
If we get a new one -
Where can I check out the best one to buy?
Can I recycle the old one?

The first thing you need to do is find out how much it will cost to fix, get some quotes.
Next you need to find out how much it will cost to replace, shop around.
Thee are other things to consider such as how much energy and water a new one will use compared to the old one. But the main thing is how much to replace and how much to repair.
Not to mention the obvious question, do I really need it?0 -
An old gent I know had a Siemens washing machine in this case which developed a fault. I think it was about 10 years old - not sure. Anyway he is loathe to replace anything so contacted Siemens and an engineer came to look at it.
He told him it was not worth fixing, to buy a Bosch on the lower end of the price range and this all cost him £70 or maybe a bit more. So he had to dump the old WM and get the new one and he could have had £70 towards the new one.
It really is a dilemna. I would say with the age of the machine, you are better off replacing if you are unable to do without the DW. I love mine so would hate to be without it!Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Thanks Larmy, we though OH had fixed it. We pulled the machine out, he fiddled with the connections/hose and it started working - for 2 days fine. On the third day it washed then would not rinse. A friend has had an engineer who she said will not charge for a call out to diagnose so I am hoping he will come out.
I had a similar situation with a washing machine. Engineer came out, fixed it - new motor and recommended a descale. He said it was a good machine and they did not make them like that anymore. Cost about £200 all told to fix. It only lasted a couple more months then the board blew so I had to replace it. It felt like £200 wasted. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I have a great workman in the area where I live, SE London, he is called The Wash Machine Doctor, and everytime my wash machine plays up he comes, call costs me £30 but then the machine works beautifully for a couple more years. Really worth it!
I suggest you do some internet search in your area or even look at repairmen in your local paper, it might be worth finding someone who knows how to clean the filter, repair a hose or whatever happens to the insides of these machines!
Best of luck
