I can't see any prices on that link.danrv said:
Mercer Millenia range of knives are similar to Victorinox but half the cost.goldfinches said:
I looked at the Victorinox knife you mentioned and noticed that they sell a sharpener they say is easy to use and perfect for keeping their knives in good condition so if you do buy that knife get the sharpener as well. I have a Victorinox Rex Peeler which is incredibly sharp and have also used their knives at a cookery class and they are very good so I think it would be a worthwhile purchase.
Not sure if there's a difference in quality.

Today's Gentle Author Newsletter includes a photo of an East End knife grinder in the 1970s, which isn't that long ago, although the photos include an awful lot that's vanished since they were taken.2

Nothing to do with knives! but those photos are amazing, I particularly liked the old school traffic sign & the adjacent shop window with some of the well remembered grocery signs such as 'Smiths Crisps' All worth a look- how things have changed in 50 years.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Looks good. I recently bought one similar to the Chili Works type. I'll probably be using my Keenbest whetstone instead though.
I've bought a Shan Zu Classic Series chef knife now. Amazing VFM and very sharp out of the box and staying so. Care is needed both with using and cleaning.

All my knives are Victorinox. I have been using most of them for nearly 38 years. I use a steel to sharpen them but would love to get some of them grounded again.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons
