Recent West Brom applications

Hello,
Our mortgage broker has sent our full application off to West Brom following an AIP. Our broker has been great but the control freak in me is really struggling not having access to my own portal...
I'm holding off paying £500 solicitors fees for searches before getting the mortgage as I've already paid broker fees, and I don't want to lose £1000 if the mortgage turns out to be a no. However, this is obviously holding everyone else in the chain up and I'm feeling bad!
Thanks all, any advice/reassurance appreciated!

Its been a week since you submitted the application. Your not holding anything up in the grand scheme of things. Your right to hold off.
I do not have any recent first hand experience of West brom, but I suspect there is a reason you have gone to them. Most building societies do a good job, they are thorough but they are also real people.

Can I ask what progress has been made with your mortgage application with West Brom. Ours was submitted on Friday last week and i believe the Valuation was done yesterday so just waiting now. Probably expecting too much, but would have liked to have known of any come back before the Easter break.0

Hey - exactly the same boat. Valuation has come back this morning but we won't be provided with it until we get an offer... if we get an offer. Not an anxious person but this is turning me into a wreck! Lol. Fingers crossed it's good news for us both.Aurora2014 said:Can I ask what progress has been made with your mortgage application with West Brom. Apparently the valuation is not booked now till after Easter. It was the HA that told us they were attending site on Tuesday this week so I don’t really know what’s happened there.missmortgagehunter said:

Oh no! That’s frustrating. I believe the valuation is all ok but they’ve come back with lots more questions and more requests for even more documentation… feels never ending. Every time you think you’ve provided everything you could possibly provide, there’s more!! Guess we’ll be waiting until after Easter too. XAurora2014 said:
