Intrum account

I did a CCA request a few years back and they confirmed they could not supply the CCA agreements so debt unenforceable , not heard anything since but the account remains open on my credit file, can I request closure? Or will I need to offer a settlement figure ? We are due to renew mortgage in nov 26 so keen to get this off my credit file . It just says no data since March 22.

When did it default? It will drop off your credit report 6 years after it defaulted, if you clear it then the default will still show.

The credit file has to report accurately. The debt still exists even though it may be unenforceable.

One ancient default is not going to impact your mortgage much
  • Thanks both, it shows as open not defaulted? Can I ask them to show it as a default so it eventually disappears?

How long is it since you last paid anything towards the account? It may be near statute barred.

What's the date of the letter from Intrum saying it is unenforceable?

If it's not showing as a default it should have less effect on a mortgage application.

Do you know what this was originally? It was likely defaulted by the original creditor before being sold to Intrum.

If that date was more than six years ago, then the whole thing should dissapear

Thank you will check my paperwork about that. I was paying an agreed amount to the credit card , they suddenly decided this wasn’t enough and sold it to intrum. It was a shock as they didn’t tell me till I heard from Intrum . That’s reassuring to know it will dissapear from original default date . Will go hunting for paperwork in the loft! Thank you
