At  34 - can you see yourself still within the NHS for at least another 30 years to maximise the pension ?

Depending on your role, personality etc that may or may not be achievable.

Having done 35 years - Im done and am taking early retirement (fortunate that 30+ is in the 1995 section). The pension isn’t brilliant but enough to live off with an additional part time job

Yes the pension is good (if you make it to 67) but how viable is that ?

The longer you stay, the harder it is to change.

I had a massive health scare that totally made me reevaluate my whole life

Just a different perspective to consider

Thank you, that has been considered and if I’m ever going to do it maybe it should be now. I think I’m going to see what the whole package entails and have a good sleep on it for a couple of days.

    Thanks again

generally  to be worthwhile leaving the NHS the  salalry offered needs to be considerably larger   because the overall package vale of a AfC  ( or Medical and Dental) NHS   contract is  rather  more than the  headline wage
( especially for Afc bands 2 -7 )  when you take into account the value of the pension ( even if mostly 2015  section,  1995 section enetitlements evern more valuable  but  will be preserved  if you  leave  and iirc  all current  accrual is 2015)

the overall package with regard to annual leave,  sick pay arrangments ( especially if you have 4 or more  years service ) , the 'free' death  in service benefits  ...

Thanks again all of you. You made the decision with me. I have decided to stay, with no regrets. If anything, I value my job and position more! Thanks again.
