That 25 year interest-only mortgage...

I'm going to get the total exact savings out of DH ASAP but I think the roundup of everything else would just be madly complicated (and I'm pretty sure DH wouldn't go for it - we have so many accounts and some I run, some he runs).
I'm going to have a better look at my Snoop category totals though and see which are looking a bit OTT, apart from the coffee
I have a bike that needs selling - I put it on FB Marketplace, and a sewing machine which I have not listed yet. Going to list both on Ebay over the next couple of days while I have a few days off.2 -
Transferred £450 from Plum to my ISA last night, woo hoo!
I have £50 in Quidco and I'm trying to decide if it will be groceries (Sainsbury's 2% bonus, plus I'm eligible for an ode card which is 3% I think) or school uniform (John Lewis or M&S - unfortunately we don't have much choice in the way of supermarket clothes sections though I could always click and collect - but my kids are so hard on uniforms I tend to look for reinforced knees etc.).
Child 2 needs new sports kit due to growing so am hitting Vinted - shame I can't boost the Quidco vouchers for Decathlon.0 -
I've got one transfer in really easily from Virgin to UBL (after I'd opened it I saw that people were struggling with UBL so am happy to see that) and I'm waiting for a transfer in from Plum. That could be longer as Plum isn't officially a "bank account".
I might try a simpler combination next tax year...

Oh dear... Apparently when I opened my Plum account there was a typo in my NI number and so the funds couldn't be transferred to UBL. Fingers crossed it's all sorted now.1

Finally got my old ISA to transfer to my new one, still using Plum for ongoing savings but working on a new ISA. Will tot up everything saved so far at the end of this month.0

Our tenants paid upfront for the next block of time! So I've got £12,000 which I will use to overpay as I have a plan for gradual saving into the ISA.
So far we have
Husband £30K in ISAs (fixed for a year from last tax year so will use them later this year to over pay)
Me £15K in ISAs from previous years plus about £2K so far this year (having to open a new one due to the other one having odd requirements)
And £12K rent - luckily no outstanding tax but we have a roof bill coming up for the rental flat so I might skip a few months savings if necessary.
Current outstanding mortgage £141K.
Remaining term 3 years 8 months.0 -
Hi I’v just read your diary

can I check when you say the interest on the mortgage is tax deductible what this means? I am considering a BTL for the same reason as you - to top up pension.

After the overpayment current outstanding mortgage is £129K
Current savings:
I have £16,800 in one ISA and £2745 in another (the former is £13000 transfer-in but can't be updated further so any more savings will go into the other one).
DH has £30,000 in one ISA but I'm awaiting an update. We have some NS&I savings too which I also am getting an update from him.
The first ISA was a bit confusing but will now stay the same apart from interest. I'm putting between £500 and £1k per month in the other one.0
