I am looking for a new laptop. just for browsing etc. No gaming or anything like that.
Looking to spend around £500
Looked at the HP DV9605 laptop in currys with builtin webcam etc. what do you think ?
Sorry dont know how to post a link . ( thats another thing i could do with knowing how to do )

you're not alone, i can't do links either. you could try the dell website where you can build the laptop to suit your own reqs.

what is the Athlon processor ? is that a good one ? i know Pentium but waht is celeron etc ? which is best ?

Does the dell one above have a built in web cam ? i would use that for chatting to family in Canada .

Have you thought about a Macbook?
Mine was refurbished from the Apple site - £580, but is wi-fi, has a camera, and is just great!!

If it's any help, I had a DV9605 - but it would not play dvds without the picture jerking & dropping frames. Tried everything to cure the problem, in the end I returned it within 28 days & had a full refund.

If you aren't going watch dvds then it's pretty good.
