Salary Sacrifice vs Net Pay - NI
Comments
-
I have had the same notification and really unhappy about it as I earn £25998.94 so around £13.30 an hour if I’ve worked it out right which if I continue to pay the government minimum of 5% like I have been doing I should still be above the minimum wage.
however my employer has an business internal figure which has not been declared which stops me from using the salary sacrifice is this something that are able to do??0 -
Update from this initial question.....
She has had a further 'in grade' pay rise and is now going to be earning more than the minimum wage AFTER pension contribution via salary sacrifice so she should be able to 're-join' the Sal Sac scheme next month.
However, she has had an email from HMRC lowering her tax code by circa £1750 for this tax year based off this years and previous year/years tax she has under paid apparently. No explanation what this is based on (it isn't unpaid tax from bank interest) so she'll have to contact them however we suspect it is from the fact she shouldnt have been on a Sal Sac scheme for a number of the previous years and hence she is now having to repay tax/NI she has previously not been paying......Cheers, Stu0
