HSBC mortgage application

Hello, we have been waiting for our buyers revised mortgage offer from HSBC for 5 weeks now. Is it usually taking this long if anyone knows. The service level says 14 w/d for application amendment forms but it’s been pass this timeframe. Our estate agent doesn’t seem to be concerned and they keep getting told that it will be within the week. But it’s been ‘within the week’ for 4 weeks now.
I appreciate it has been the stamp duty deadline which may mean the bank is inundated with requests but I would have hoped that we would have heard something.
Anyone had any experience with this or if there is anything we can do? Thank you!

I've had a mortgage offer and had it revised , in the last month. I'm not with HSBC but I'd expect all big mortgage lenders to be under similar pressures due to the stamp duty deadline. It's for your estate agent to get updates from your buyer but if there's no update then nothing more can be done on your side. You could threaten to pull out if the buyer isn't in a position to proceed by a certain date...but I''m not sure how that would help you.0
