Thanks in advance for any replies .
Does anyone know the timeline for LGPS to reply with a pension estimate. It was requested in Oct..24 . they then asked my company to request again in early March when they contacted asking for an update.
This was a month ago, but I've not heard anything  yet. I have emailed my company's pension department again.
I want to retire on 31st August this year.
I also pay into an AVC, from my wages and understand I should stop paying this , so it can be sorted in time for my retirement.  I am not sure when to do this.
I don't want to mess up the system by just cancelling my payments! Not sure when to do this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

It might be an idea to change the thread title to make it clearer as there is retirement software called Timeline.

It seems that things are taking longer than they should because of the added work due to McCloud.  But nearly 6 months is unacceptable.  See if your employer can give them a kick.

As for your AVCs, if payment time is of the essence then you will need to stop your contributions before you retire.  I used to recommend one full month before your last day of service, so your LGPS can confirm that there are no further payments in the pipeline when they ask the Pru (?) to disinvest your savings.  But, the way things are going at the moment, you may wish to consider cancelling your payments at the end of June.

    Thanks @Silvertabby
It was explained to me in Oct that it would probably be Feb, March before I heard.
I will hopefully hear very soon and then stop the avc in plenty of time.
    Thanks again

Timetoretire posted the following in case anyone is also confused with that other post!

Thank you so much for your help the other day with my AVC query. I am going to try and attach a picture again. The other post would not add a pic and  now is not letting me add anything to it.
I tried phoning the pension people... the lady on the phone didn't understand my query! Was told of course its correct! I've asked for someone else to call me. I've also emailed , with pictures attached.

Have you tried the little round symbol and edit it?

Generally to add the image, I generally saved the file and just "drag and drop" the file from the desktop directly into the comment box which generate the image below.

Thanks, I’ve tried again and it does not post, it comes up with a red box and says
Body is 9 characters too short!
    No idea what that means.

You need to include at least nine characters of text with the picture.
Just type "Here it is." and then add the picture.
