Completion of paperwork before call back from future pensions?

Options
I found out recently I could be eligible to pay voluntary NI contributions for the years I worked  abroad 2007-2012.   Before and after the time abroad I worked in the UK and continue to live here.

I went online, followed the links and it said I'd need to speak to the DWP Future pensions service/ couldn't pay online  etc.   I've completed the online form asking for a callback as their phone lines have been diabolical.

Doing some reading people mention the CF83 form- am I supposed to have completed/ submitted this paperwork already or would this be part of the process after I receive the call back from Future Pension service??

thank you in advance for any guidance  :)

I did both, seems safest, but others may have different advice.

Filling in the CF83, you get immediate time-stamped confirmation and a reference number.
The callback just says you are in a queue - but there's no real confirmation (reference number/time-stamp) - only your own screenshots...
