Morning GERS and all to follow. It's a bit grey just now but the sun is due out soon they say. Yesterday was glorious and the pesky wind finally dropped. I sat outside for quite a while reading and neither I nor my book got blown away! It felt like summer and hard to believe it's early April. Long may it last!
DS is away on a jolly so no SS for me today. Instead I am thinking I might get the bus to Ilkley for a change, for a trip to M & S Food for the few fresh bits I am needing. I mustn't get too carried away though and will stick to my little list.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning allNot quite as bright out there as yeterday was and the weather forecast says lots of blustery winds later too.DH is here for the weekend and has taken big dog out for a long walk, I'll take the little one out later. Might do a bit of gardening later. Some stuff needs a good trim.Hope everyone has a good day x13

Good morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
It's a bit dull here, but the forecast is ok.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend. x11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x Annoying about the traffic yesterday but glad you’ve found an optician closer to home 😊
We walked 12 miles yesterday along the Grand Western Canal to Tiverton then the Exe Valley Way towards Exeter. DH met us at Bickleigh Mill which is where we’ll start from this morning. We are headed for Crediton today but the route looks hilly so have planned 10 miles. DSis phone has died so DH will take it into Exeter today to see about getting it fixed.Have a good day everyone

Morning two! The sun is rising from the cold east, the sky is light blue though I'm hoping for California blue later on.Yesterday I was strangely productive, did this, sorted that and looked at the other.
In the afternoon I ventured into town for a wee mooch, didn't buy anything exciting but came across an interesting development at one of our local pharmacies (there are two, almost side by side and owned by the same person). The shop is being remodelled during which they have installed a 24 hour prescription dispensary, it's a vending machine for medicines. I went to ask about it, registered and left wanting to use it at a later date. The process is that once the meds have been dispensed they are put in one of the slots, the patient gets a text with a code, has three days to collect by inputting the text. Ingenious!
This particular pharmacy seems to cater for the younger population whilst the other one is much more traditional (lots of wood and toiletries) and is frequented by the much older generation.Today is again open for filling. I'm sure I'll find odds and sods to occupy me some of the time.Well done to @Coxy on the walking, you've got it all organised well with DH.I hope that you have a good day @Iris, perhaps some cafe chatting with a friend?Gardening is calling me too @Chrisca though I'm resolutely ignoring it for now.Take care everyone, hugs to all especially the poorlies and sads.13 -
Morning All
Dry this morning but quite overcast at the moment. Yesterday looked glorious but the wind was very cold. I visited the family at their camping site and had a veggie hot dog for my tea - very nice sat by the camp fire looking out over Loch Lomond. I had to get one of my winter coats back out of the winter bag and it's been washed again as it smelled of wood smoke! I had to have a nice hot bath when I got in as I was so cold.
Enjoy your walk Coxy.
What a good idea Gers.
Glad you got your holiday sorted, I don't think Albania is ready for us yet!
Shopping and allotment this morning and this afternoon I'm going to start digging over friend's garden as they let me plant some veggies in there. I'll let their dog out in the garden whilst I'm there and she can keep me company as they are off to a 90th birthday party.
Bedding in the WM to be hung out and all my work trousers are already blowing about out there.
Have a good weekend. Take care. XX12 -
Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Gers. Lots of high cloud when I got up but the sun is breaking through now and it promises to be another fine day, perhaps a bit cooler than yesterday but still good for the time of year.
I had a productive day yesterday, one wash load done and the WM behaved itself which was a relief, but I still think the old girl may be nearing the end - she is 16 or maybe 17 years old and has certainly earned her keep! I emptied the last two ring binders (now in the CS bag), some contents went to recycling and others with personal information are on the shredding pile. Documents I need to keep are split between one binder and a box file, the latter being for important stuff DS will eventually need. Friday admin done, let's hope I can stick to the meal plan this week.
Today's main job is to order the decorating supplies; I'm pleased I didn't do it before as they now have a sale on - a bit of cash saved is always welcome. Other tasks include the remaining paper shredding, running the vac over the stairs and an attempt at making a batch of peanut butter bars. Tea tonight is a chicken stir fry with noodles.
@Gers - The 24-hour prescription vending machine idea sounds interesting, not something I've heard of before.
Enjoy your day whatever you have planned and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning for a windy but sunny Mehefinland
been busy doing council stuff for year end returns - still looking for an errant sum which has disappeared. The saga with the new router for the council chamber continues - I have lost count of the hours I have wasted on it - feel like telling them to take it away again. Spent a good 45 minutes on the phone the other night waiting to connect to the technical team - in the end my battery ran out!.and I never did get to speak to them. Email sent when I got home - and now they want the serial number - so another trip on the cards.
No2 car in for MOT today - its local so I will wait. Bit more difficult doing these things on your own - the public transport here is abysmal, and there are only so many times you can ask friends/neighbours to pick you up etc. Well I think so, anyway.
Cold wind has slowed down the gardening for the time being - I am pretty exposed to the East and it was perishing outside yesterday. My plug plants arrived so I potted them on - hopefully they will survive , but I am not impressed with this peat free compost - it dries out too quickly and sets like concrete!
Someone coming for poo later - at least a couple of barrowloads - it won't make a mark on the heap!! need to have a boot sale lol.
Hugs and spoons as always - hope the poodles are improving

Morning all, thanks Gers - hope you likeyour new optician.Well done on the walking Coxy. The wind is coming in useful at the moment Camelot, happy digging.DH is going to make a new garden gate for on the path between us and next door at the back of the gardens, it runs along the row of cottages for access on foot. It's hardly ever used apart from the odd occasional window cleaner. The neighbour was power washing and a piece fell off as it had gone rotten. Closer inspection by DH revealed more rot so it's time for a new one. We're at football this afternoon so it may be a takeaway later, we'll see.Enjoy the sunshine all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
