Retraining

Hi
A bit of background on me - I'm a mid forties married mum of 2 teenagers working full time in accounts that I have worked in all my working life. I have never progressed to anything other than accounts Assistant and I am feeling very stuck and motivated. I moved jobs last February due to circumstances beyond my control and I know I made the wrong decision at the time.
I have considered some sort of retraining or getting a job in retail but they tend to be small part time hours.
I really need some advice so I can stop this going round and round in my head!

Can you do your AAT certification if you want to stay in Finance?0

I did my AAT years ago. My current employer offers extra qualifications but I would be tied to them for 5 yearsBaby daughter born Jan 10Baby son born June 110

Could you shift sideways into something legal like Compliance or auditing of some kind? The skills are transferable. I did it the other way round - I was a food safety auditor for many years then did my AAT qualifications and moved into accounting.0

What about an NHS Apprenticeship, where you get paid, whilst you are studying:

I retrained and went to university in my forties, it is just finding something that 'calls to you' and that fits in with your circumstances i.e. family, location and how much you want or need to earn.
Good Luck0
