Looking for advice. About a year ago I received a letter from HMRC saying my tax code has changed. In that letter I had two employers, my correct one, and some other I didn'#t recognise.

I rang HMRC and after a lot of to and from they said I was subject to fraud, someone was using my details and they'd lock my account and remove the incorrect employer entry.

About three weeks later I tried to access my online hmrc avvount but it still said it was locked. contacted hmrc who again after much to and fro said there was a query about my employers (yes, i know!) and my account was locked (again, yes, I know!) and should be unlocked when investigations are complete. Was assured the spurious employer had been removed.

Several weeks later I receive another letter about my tax code being changed. This time a different spurious employer was listed. Contacted hmrc, yet more to and fro, told my account was locked, but assured the employer would be removed, but no timesale.

Role on to a month ago, still cannot access my account as still locked. Raised a resolver complaint. Had an auto reply from hmrc saying received but that's last Ive heard of it. Escalated with resolver as month had passed. Again, a week later, still nothing.

When I ring they just to and fro and "hmmm" and assure me the lock will be lifted, but nothing happens.

Any advice on what I can do here? I want to check my account (not least to check my employer details are correctand free of fraudulent employers) but also want to check my NI contributions and potentially pay for any missing ones. But I can't! Think I've missed/about to miss the deadline for doing that.

Really fed up of their incompetence..

For the NI contribution: request a call back today: https://www.gov.uk/future-pension-centre. There is a link on the page for `call back request form`
As long as this form is completed before the end of the tax year even if the call back is after the deadline paying gaps will be possible.

About the fraud on the account I cannot comment.

As above re call back. As for the access to your account I would contact your MP, their IT incompetence is beyond a joke and department heads do not like being called up in front of parliamentary committees.
