best deposit / loan to value to secure lowest interest rate?

what is typically the optimal deposit to put down to get the lowest mortgage rate? I'm flexible in what I can afford and would like to put down the minimum deposit that secures the lowest rate. I don't want to increase my deposit beyond the point at which it gives no benefit to the rate. Thanks for any feedback

Others may know more, but from what I've seen it looks like 40% deposit is the last level at which rates change for most lenders: once you get above 40% deposit (i.e. below 60% LTV), rates don't seem to come down any further - at least not for the lenders I've looked at.

    40%.
But the difference in rates between 25% and 40% is pretty minimal. So you might prefer the idea of a smaller deposit for a negligible difference in rate - although repayments will be higher because of the rate and larger balance.
