Hi all.
I have seen a recipe for "No Bake Brownie Bites" but it didn't give any measurements.
Has anyone a tried and tested recipe they could share please

Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Hi I haven't tested this recipe but as I was browsing the web this evening (can't sleep) I noticed this video
No-Bake Brownies Easy Recipe from a 1936 Cookbook! | Watch
For the written recipe stop the video at 1:14 mins. 1 square of chocolate = 1oz and he mentions that an 8" square pan is probably best.1 -

I like the bit in the following recipe there that specifies a random 3/4 cup or more of flour!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. My mum used to make this - not brownies, more of a chocolate fridge cake, but we loved it. She decorated the top with chocolate buttons.

@DiamondLil - that's very like a pudding that my mother used to make for special occasions which she called Crumb Pie. It was made of finely crushed digestive biscuits mixed with melted butter, syrup and cocoa which was packed into a ceramic tart dish and then left in the larder to set firm. She then covered the top with whipped cream and a tin of black cherries. She used to cut it into very thin slices to make it last several days and we all adored it.
She also made a budget version using just the crushed biscuits, butter and syrup which I think probably coincided with the digestives being on special offer as you needed about 1 and 3/4 packets for the size of our dish.
I've never known where the original recipe came from as it wasn't a family one and she didn't read any magazines or borrow any cookbooks from the library so do tell me what the name of the publication is please, I'd love to see if I can find a copy for myself."Common sense is that collection of prejudices and untruths that you have learned by the age of eighteen"

@DiamondLil - thankyou so much for the information, very kind of you. Those books have both gone onto my charity shop wish list and I am going to try using the Eat Your Books website to see if the recipe is included in other GH books too."Common sense is that collection of prejudices and untruths that you have learned by the age of eighteen"
