We do as much as we can for ourselves and accept that, whilst it would be grand to live in a beautifully decorated & furnished house, we are content to be happy with what we have.
I've found home baking using recipes from my Mum's trusty "Bero" cookery book to be a good saver - I cut cakes into portions before freezing so I can just take a couple of slices at a time because leaving a entire cake out would guarantee it being scoffed in a day (!)No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.7 -
Good morning
Its a lovely sunny day here
Another way to save is to just use less. So slightly less shower gel, shampoo, sugar in your tea etc Only little bits but it makes what you have stretch further. (This was a thought I had when I woke this morning. Quite sad really 🤣)
Our food budget is going further this year too because we decided it was a time for a change. I religiously ate breakfast every morning because that’s what I’ve always done. We were brought up on 3 meals a day and clear your plate. No leftovers. But we’re older now and less active so don’t need as much so now eat when hungry so if we don’t want a big meal for tea have a sandwich or something smaller. It’s definitely been better health wise too.
Anyway time for work 😀
