Thanks for that. Ill take a look. These challenges definitely focus and drive me on.
So monthly check in, massively overspent this month.
Mot, house insurance, football season ticket, 2 birthdays, and a couple of other bits- some of which i forgot about left me going into pay day over drawn. Lesson learnt. Gunna stick to the +300 overpayment for the next couple of months to get back on track. Need to learn not to get excited on pay day.
So i finished last month with a huge overpayment of £1060.83. This resulted in a letter off the bank saying they are reducing my payment by £11 to £472. I havent altered this yet but i will. For now ive just paid the £11 difference in an overpayment.
The mortgage tracker app im using tells me ive so far knocked 10 months off the mortgage. Go me.Debt free 2024 (excluding mortgage)

Ive found this amazing mortgage tracker that keeps track of overpayments and interest savings as well as expected completion dates and i think that will be a great motivation tool to keep me going. Its amazed me how a £1000 overpayment is enough to knock circa 7 months off the mortgage at this stage.
Care to share what mortgage tracker you are using? I have been looking for something similar0 -
