Income tax

Can an employer take two months tax out of one months wages without consent?  No notice was given and he said it was so he could start a fresh from this month.  He always took the tax a month behind?

Are you not paid on PAYE?

They should have always been paying you net and not effectively giving you a short term loan

Sorry that sounds dodgy as anything.

Are you PAYE? Tax is usually automatically calculated by the software based on your YTD earnings along with your tax code.

To see what is happening needs more information....
    Taxable gross
    Tax paid
    Tax code
    Taxable pay to date
    Tax paid to date
    Tax week/month or date paid.

There are several things that can cause extra tax to be deducted and also there are circumstances when the tax being taken in the past was reduced and has now gone back to normal appearing to be an increase.

I've no idea how you can take tax late or when it suits him.
All companies should be running an electronic payroll, that was a requirement years ago.

If you don't get a payslip that matches what you are paid then your employer is not doing something right.

The tax year ends 5th April so if your last payslip for the year was dated end of March it should show the YTD (year to date) and monthly pay being paid, Compare that to previous payslips and see what has changed

End of the tax year.  Whatever has being going on couldn't continue any longer.

Does that mean your first pay did not have any tax deducted.
