Does this help? There’s an update from 17th April but nothing after that.AlanF said:Does anyone know where HMRC are up to with the process of contacting all people who logged in on 5th April? We've heard nothing.0 -

I don't think HMRC have any intention of contacting people. That would be up to you to do.AlanF said:Does anyone know where HMRC are up to with the process of contacting all people who logged in on 5th April? We've heard nothing.
After you have been contacted by DWP to ascertain which year(s) are worth paying for.

That was specifically about people trying to make a paymentAlanF said:

I may be mistaken but you seemed to be referring to people who were trying to establish if they could improve their State Pension entitlement.
Paying for additional years is a different thing to that0 -
For our situation, yes, we were trying to make a payment. Earlier in the month we had viewed the options to buy back the missing years, taken advice, and then on the 5th logged onto to buy 2 of those 3 available years - but one of the years (20-21) had disappeared, so we couldn't buy it.Dazed_and_C0nfused said:

My understanding from the HMRC spokeserson's comments "we're sorry that customers were unable to use our online service on Saturday to top up NI contributions for years prior to 2021. We will contact anyone directly about the payments they wanted to make to ensure they don't miss out" is that HMRC would have contacted everyone who logged into the site on 5th April but didn't make a purchase. Otherwise I'm not really sure what that quote is saying - it seems unambiguous to me. However, 2 months later they haven't contacted us, so I guess we're going to have to start the painful process of contacting HMRC and speaking to someone who won't be aware of this error.......0
