LINK Financial - Emails

Options
I have a debt over 15k with Link, previously from a Halifax loan.  The account is managed by Wescott.

The debt is enforceable, I requested documents a few year ago.

I have been making token payments now for a few years of £5 a month and have not heard anything for a while, however, I have recently started receiving emails from LINK directly (previously they would always direct me to Wescott).

What are my options, shall I contact them?  What can they do, the debt is no longer on my credit file, but it does still exist.  The original loan was unsecured, my token payment is reflective of my financial situation.  What action could they take next?  Emails have been tame so far but I would imagine they'll get progressively more threatening.

Any advice much appreciated.

    Hi

Saying they've been trying to get in touch to discuss my account and had failed to make contact.  Want to know my intentions surrounding my debt

Emails from them were going to junk.  Just find it strange they contacting me direct when wescott have been acting for them for years.  Not heard from wescott in a long time, but I had kept up the payments

Are the balance figures going down?

If Wescot are no longer involved, I'd be concerned that they are not or at some point will not pass on your payment.

What are your options? Well you could carry on as you are but that's a 3000 month plan, assuming your payments keep being passed on.

Another option would be to save for a full & final settlement but £5 per month is probably going to take too long to be realistic.

You could just ignore and see what they do. They have six years from when you stop paying.

Another option would depend on you not being a homeowner. With 15k debt and £5 per month surplus you are in DRO territory.
