Why am I not receiving full state pension?

Options
Checking my NI records I have full year payments going back to 1963 up to 2013 when I retired, but my state pension is only around £764 and I understand it should be more.  Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome. Thank you.

    £764? How often?

    Were you contracted out?

As you retired before 2016 you are not eligible for the new state pension of £221.20 if that is what you are referring to.

You get whatever you were entitled to under the old system plus annual increases for the last 11 years.

    Assuming £764 / 4 = £191 = £169.50 + £21.50 additional pension.

What led you to believe that it should be more, for your circumstances?

Contrary to popular misbelief, the new single tier pension is not the new basic State pension.
  • Sincere thanks to all for the replies. I'm sorry for any confusion by not including enough information. For the first time ever I can say it's my wife's fault. It turns out I'm getting what I deserve. I was employed until from 1963 to 1982 after which I went self employed, paid my NI since right up to my retirement. So in fact Molerat is quite correct. Thank you all once again.
