If it seems frustrating that the Trustees are ignoring your husband's wishes it's worth just re-iterating that they are required to take not just his wishes but also all potentially relevant circumstances into account.  As others have said, we don't know precisely what in this case has led to them giving money to his daughter - you could ask if you like but they may not feel able to share those confidential reasons.

As for the Pensions Ombudsman, I find it very unlikely that he would ask the Trustees to change their decision if they have gone through the right process in their deliberations.  He might suggest some compensation for the long delay.

Nope, only the lump sum which I won’t get all of now by the looks of it. He had life insurance which paid the mortgage but that’s it.
