Buy Additional Pension or Vanguard LS

Good afternoon. I am currently a Civil Servant earning £12,000/year. I 63 years old I am in the Alpha Scheme contributing £45/month since I started in the role 5 years ago. I am in the fortunate position of being able to put more of my salary into a pension so can 'buy' more Alpha pension or alternately pay the funds into Vanguard 60/40 LS or similar.
Your thoughts and inputs are welcomed

Which is more important to you: certainty (Alpha) or flexibility (Vanguard)?
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Great question Marcon. I have the 'certainty'  with Alpha already, so I guess I could pay extra into that and set up a SIPP as well

But which best fits your objectives?
