Aldermore mortgages/ experience with adverse credit

Seeking if anyone has had any similar experiences.

I currently submitted my application with Aldermore on 24.03.25 and today 28.03.25 had the evaluation done. Aldermore came back with a couple questions with the application past address and one regarding a dmp which never crossed my mind as I’ve been paying it back for 2 years £10pm.

I have declared past defaults and a ccj over 4 years old and all settled and cleared with no missed payments.

I am now stressing due to the fact the might be declined due with new information they have an it was genuinely just missed.

My MB said things look good because they have been through it pretty quick so far, but I am just constantly stressing awaiting an update.

    You should be fine.
They were always going to ask about it, we tend to add a note to explain the adverse when the application goes in. But at the same time, we do a lot of adverse so we have a good idea of what they will ask for.

    You will be fine.

Hi. Have you heard anything more back from Aldermore/your broker? Interested in the timescale of such an application.

At every stage it goes back to aldermore, you are looking at about 3-4 working days - apart from the valuation which is dependent on the surveyor, but then 3-4 working days to be reviewed by aldermore.

Good to know. We are first time buyers and have applied through a broker to Aldermore but we’ve heard nothing for over a week. Wondered if that was normal as we’ve not done it before.

Over a week, probably not. But if you applied directly, it could be a different process.
