Hi,

in the case of VR in the LGPS, how is the pre 2008 service and guaranteed lump sum treated? Will they be unreduced like the CARE pension? Or do they fall under different rules?

Also unreduced, if necessary. If you are over 60 and meet R85 in respect of your pre 2008 service, then there wouldn't be an early retirement reduction under any circumstances.

i will be 58 and a couple of years light of satisfying the R85. Is the lump sum unreduced to?
