Mortgage term extended in error

Hi
Wonder if anyone else has experienced this. I’m currently in the process of remortgaging with extending my term to allow for some additional borrowing. I was advised of three steps by mortgage provider:
1. Extend term
2. Additional borrowing
3. New rate and remortgage

However, having extending my term to age 75 successfully a couple of months ago, now being told it shouldn’t have happened. As I have a small amount (sub account 2) on interest only, neither the repayment or interest only term should have been extended. They are now saying it need to be changed back to age 67. I had my finances planned out and payments based on the 75. This has caused me more stress and having had numerous phone calls to get this far, it’s all been wasted. They are raising a complaint and I’m likely to go to another mortgage provider now.

Anyone else experienced this? What should I expect from the complaint? Should I request compensation? Can’t believe a reputable bank would get this wrong, they said it’s not policy and should never gone through. I’m paying the new amount. Can I refuse to change back?
