Avoiding giving mobile number?

When filling out forms online (such as for competitions) you're often asked for your phone number and I *really* don't like giving out my number if I can avoid it.
Sometimes forms will accept "00000000000", but often they don't, and I was wondering if there is such a thing as a fake/dummy mobile number that can be used in such circumstances (if that makes sense)?

Hi @rainbowhippy welcome to the forum 🤗
This board is only for posting free to enter online competitions.
Please use 'Compers Chat' board for questions/discussions etcetera - easily found in the main 'Competitions Time' menu.
Have fun and happy comping 🍀
(Move requested.)1 -
If you give a false/incomplete number they may not try to contact you another way so you will have wasted your time entering.3

I put a spare payg SIM in one of my old phones so I have a number only for comping, the same with my email addressrainbowhippy said:When filling out forms online (such as for competitions) you're often asked for your phone number and I *really* don't like giving out my number if I can avoid it.

I've got a phone number just for comping, which is registered with the telephone preference service, meaning that I don't get cold calls. It doesn't work for calls from abroad, but I very rarely get calls on that number and if I do, the spamguard built into the phone will tell me if it is dodgy. I've only had a handful of calls informing me of a win in the decades that I've had it.0
