Barclaycard, irresponsible lending

Been following for a while and am currently self managing a dmp.
I first took a credit card out with barclaycard in 2012 due to being pregnant at the time and needing baby stuff. Since then the credit limit has increased. at various points I'd paid it off and then racked up more over and over again mostly always paying minimum payments. Eventually I became in persistent debt, I did clear this card with some help from family for which barclaycard subsequently reduced my limit to a few hundred pound stating this was what they deemed an acceptable limit for me based on my circumstances. Barclaycard proceeded to then up my limit to about £4000, while not a huge sum to most i'm not working and have 2 kids and the interest rate is high. I did not update any change of income and they are aware of my history. While I could have rejected the increase I do have some mental health issues and times have been a bit tough, plus my history shows I've maxed out the card multiple times while only paying the minimum payment. I want to at least try to go the irresponsible lending route(how can they deem a responsible amount as being £300 and then not even a year later give me £4000?), but part of my issue with my mental health is drafting letters and being able to communicate effectively. If anyone is able to give me pointers and a structure as to what I need to include in the letter I send I would be very grateful. I would like to have the interest amounts removed from this debt from when the increase was applied.

Many Thanks

Sorry to jump on this thread, but it links with it. Is there a way of accessing your old credit reports or finding out when credit limit increases were given on certain cards etc? Basically so that I can see when I was given other cards or increased credit limits, what the state of my credit report was like at that time and how much credit I had? I have tried looking, but it only seems to go back to 2019. Thanks

Only the last 6 years of your credit history are recorded at any one time.

I think the only way would be to request statements from everyone you had credit cards with. There is no guarantee that anyone would be able to provide them although Barclaycard were able to give me statements going back 20 years

Is this so you can make an irresponsible lending complaint? The standard template asks for this information, so you dont have to have already found it out.
