Barclays Mortgage Application

Hi

i I don’t know if anyone can give me any advice, I applied for a mortgage with Barclays on 28th Feb, after having a DIP.

At the time of doing the DIP I had a missed payment from Klarna which I was unaware of until I ran my credit report in January- it’s recent December 24

The missed payment is actually an error, but during the time of my application being submitted and Barclays processing time,it went up to 2 missed payments - obviously the application got declined.

ive been in contact with Klarna since the beginning of Feb and finally last Monday got an email saying they agree it’s an error and all adverse credit marks will be removed, I forwarded this to my broker and Barclays took a week to come back and say they want a letter from Klarna instead, I have already asked for this and Klarna won’t give a letter

however in the meantime all credit files have been updated and any adverse marks removed, I spoke to my broker yesterday and told them this, they said they will go back to Barclays, but they may still want a letter stating they will be removed.

Am I going mad….they have been removed already, what good will the letter do?

thanks for any advice

Well, wait for what they actually say, but my experience of dealing with them (an in-house mortgage advisor and an underwriter) was awful. The latter was absolutely unreasonable.  I abandoned them and  went with Halifax/Lloyds instead where everything went through smoothly and without any problems.

    Thanks

Not that many positive posts about Barclays anywhere to be honest, and having dragged on a bit I just have a feeling it’s not going to be positive.

so frustrated at myself as well, as it’s the only blemish I’ve had on my credit file, it was £14, just goes to show why it’s so important to check your file!
