Was made bankrupt earlier this year, have had IPA interview but didn’t get any advice on amounts, they have come back with figure of 500 month for three years. When I filled out income I put average earnings where 30% of my salary is made up of overtime (55-60 hrs a week) and in my line of work you really are under pressure to do the overtime. You could face disciplinary for refusing. Is it too late to quit my job as I haven’t agreed the IPA or will they just look back and say you were earning x amount in the previous 3 months so the ipa will stand? I don’t think I would struggle to get another job and fall within that range and probably a better work life balance which has been been terrible for the last couple of years

Being bankrupt does not force you to remain in your job. However, if it is your intention to resign, you need to communicate that to the OR promptly so that your financial circumstances are re-assessed.1

Would they reassess my out goings if I were to get a lower paid job even if travel costs were the same? Also would it affect my partners contributions to household? They have said they are happy with the proposed outgoings but would they then change and say “we are adjusting this cost down as your circumstances have changed”0

Your reasonable outgoing are what they are, the OR wont say you dont earn as much so you can no longer have as much to live on.

I doubt it, if the numbers are within the guidelines, then your income dropping doesnt change that.1
