Continuous Service in Local Government annual leave discrepancy

Hi,

My Continuous Service was not applied correctly when I changed roles within the local government/local council. At the time, when questioned, I've been told I was not eligible (which turned out to be a wrong statement). As a result, my service is currently 5 years instead of 20, which affected my annual leave allowance and would have impacted any potential redundancy pay.

I started on 25 days of annual leave instead of the correct 34. Over the years, this has resulted in a shortfall of approximately 40 days.

I would like to inquire whether I am entitled to claim back these missed days, receive compensation for them, or if this matter will be considered closed.

This issue has now been corrected, and my annual leave entitlement is accurate.

Thank you,

Not sure about claiming what you have missed out on, but it's the kind of thing I'd want to consult my trade union about.
