Tax free childcare renewal date mismatch with new tax year

Options
I received a one off payment in the current tax year (2024/5) due to discrimination at work, which resulted in me moving jobs and have a new role, which fits firmly below the upper 100k limit.  When it comes to renewing my tax free childcare (which I haven't had since Jan due to this payment) and 30 hours childcare for April onwards, I've been told that I won't be eligible as my total 2024/2025 pay was over the limit as of 1st April.  This is accurate but only for 5 days and drops a lot in this new tax year we are about to start and will hold from there onwards.  There doesn't seem to be any allowance for this at all and it seems that I won't be able to access this support til September now, which is pretty tough.  Has anyone successfully appealed this or know where I can turn?  I've tried a mandatory review but it's very narrowly focussed on the current tax year so doesn't feel like I'm having a relevant conversation. thanks.

Make a pension contribution to take your adjusted net income under £100k.

There is nothing to appeal in terms of the breaching the £100k limit, you've either breached it or not.

we have the same problem, but everyone assumes people can casually give up your salary to put in a pension pot instead of paying bills. the mismatch is unfair
