Good morning All and welcome to the newbies.
@wannalot I feel for you. Having too much stuff can feel overwhelming. I find that having a Meal Plan takes the pressure off and means that I use/utilise stuff we already have. As things get used up, I add them to the shopping list, but I always check the fridge/freezer/pantry before heading to the shops, so that I know the bigger picture and can remind myself in the shop that the discounted box of 24 cans of tuna isn’t a discount, if it doesn’t get used up for 2+years!
I have a spend to declare from yesterday. Headed to Sainsbugs to buy the two things we needed: bananas and yoghurt. Also bought 2 YS pizzas for dinner, since I had a Covid jab yesterday and was feeling rubbish. £18.13 spent, but I did get 7 large tubs of Yeo Valley yoghurt at the Nectar-discounted price of £1.50. That is two week’s worth of lunchbox yoghurts for us. (Each tub fills 4 small Lock-n-Lock boxes and we get one each in our lunchboxes for work. The Lock-n-Lock doesn’t leak.)The above brings our GC spend to £63.20/£172, leaving £108.80 for the rest of the month.

I've spent a big portion of my budget upfront this month £248.15 to be extract but it's because I have family & friends visiting over the next week and Easter hols starts at the weekend so lots more is needed. I will only need top ups of fresh bits like fruit and veg for the rest of the month as the fridge, freezer and cupboards are full!
£248.15/£4007 -
Another spend of £32.69. Old story, I only went out for bread and a couple of other bits, but got seduced by the offers.
Will need to get fruit and veg tomorrow, hopefully won't spend too much.£84,70/£300

Well here I am reporting in..... £10 yesterday at Community Food. Got nice lot of chicken amongst all the other bits so a few curries on the horizon I feel.
Today saw me giving £23.71 to M&S and Sainbs between them, mostly on reduced items or items on offer. I went into M&S as I got an email inviting me to collect a tin of shortbread (£7) as my birthday gift this month from Sparks card. Happy with that. Will last me ages.

Thank you for running the thread elsiepac. I'm hoping to spend less this month as I am away for two weeks and the cost of meals will come out of the holiday fund. But before that I have visitors for a week, I've stashed meat in the freezer, so just need eggs, bread, fruit, veg and milk but going into the supermarket for those might result in unintended spending ( ie, biscuits, cake and picnic food), but what will be will be.
Happy Easter everyone.Grocery challenge 2025: £402/1500 annual budget7 -
I've been tempted and have fallen yet again.
I spent £0.35 on white vinegar in Sainsby's which was on my list but then completely lost all self control in M*rks and Mr T's. I spent £8.65 in M*rks on a seeded baguette, radishes and salads and then £4.50 in Mr T's on yoghurt and grapes.
That brings my total to an embarassingly large £21.15/£150.
Aargh, yet again, must try harder not to give in to temptation! I don't know how many times I've typed that phrase, it never seems to stick. Grrrr!9 -
Good morning all
Just a couple of things to report so far
Air freshener, mayo, and bin liners Asda £3.34
Tomato sauce and marg in Poundland cause I can walk there £2.25
Total spend this week £5.59
Just as an aside, I decided to open a separate bank account that pays cashback to put housekeeping budget in.
My logic is anything I don’t spend that month will hopefully accumulate and look good at the end of the year.
Just an idea for my mindset. Made 2p today 🤣
Anyway money spent so far in April £80.83/£250Have a nice weekend folks
