Hi,

Can see they open at 8am, has anyone experienced a shorter waiting time in the morning? Looking to call at 9am after the school run.

Also, will they speak to me if my Mum gives permission? She has limited english, but can confirm the basics when she is with me.

Good luck with that.  I have heard they may simply be collecting details for a call back and the staff answering are not qualified to deal with queries.

Book a call back on line. If you book a call back the clock is stopped and you will be dealt with as if it was when you booked the call however long it takes them to get back to you. The last timescale I saw was 6 weeks but that is probably getting longer. Request a call back to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions - GOV.UK Take screenshots of the application and the confirmation.

Does anyone know, if they do ring you back, does a certain number come up? I'm at work so can pick up, but no point as Mum unlikely to be with me

Managed to get through after 33mins! Spoke to them and then to HMRC to get 18 digit ref and bank deets and took 70mins in total!

@molerat thank you so much for your help. She more or less confirmed what you have said. Their system through it out as she had a cheaper year in 22/23 but this is one of the years that I wish to gift her via SACC.

Maybe the pressure has eased a bit as people opt for the call back.
