Choosing a pension provider for a new SIPP - help!

So I presume while your money is in cash and uninvested you do not get any interest or pay any fees?YellowCarBlueCar said:I also opened a new SIPP with A J Bell this week, and again it only took minutes to have cash in the account.
That's all you need to do before the end of the FY, so you aren't then under time pressure to select your funds before FY end.0 -
Depending on the provider you might get interest and you might pay fees.GenieLBH said:

OK thanks I have checked AJBell and it looks like there is no charge while money is held in cash, no charge to transfer to another provider, and interest is paid at 2.52% <£10k and 3.03% >£10k. So considering the short timescale it looks like they might be the one to go with if I do take the plunge.
Only thing that puts me off them is that bloody awful TV advertisement!

Tell me about it - I get an earworm every time I see the name. As I now have the app on my phone, that's a lot!GenieLBH said:

Fidelity are more conservative/less annoying in their low key marketing, but their platform fee is 0.35% as opposed to AJ Bell at 0.25% . Although there is no charge for investing/buying funds, whereas AJ bell charge £1.50 a time I think.
Pretty much the same terms for holding cash.0 -

The ceiling was increased to £90 some time ago.Scrounger said:Fidelity currently have a refer a friend offer of £100 in Amazon vouchers (min investment £5k):

Still good value IMO for larger pension pots held in ETF's.

Also it is £90 across the platform, unlike with HL who have separate limits for ISA's and SIPPs.Scrounger said:
