Hi, not sure anyone can help but I’ll ask anyway. I’m currently Band 2 HCA, top of my band. Next month all HCA’s in my trust will be upgraded to Band 3 so my question is will I then be top of Band 3? TIA

It probably depends on why they are doing this.
If it’s just to ensure that people are getting paid at least nmw then you may just get ported to the closest increment.
I’m sure your reps/HR will be able to be a bit more definitive0 -

Went through a regrading process at a previous place, not NHS, just peoples bands changed not their salaries so if you were say top of band 2 and were moved to band 3 then your pay is the same but if you were middle of band 2 you were now bottom of band 3 and likewise if top of 2 then now middle of 30 -
No you won't go to the top of a band 3. You'll start at the bottom of band 3 which is £24071. years ago it was different, with more scales per band, so when it happened to me (I went from a 3 to a 4 to a 5) you'd start on the equivalent scale on the band higher i.e. the lowest scale on the band up as long as it's not less than you were on before. And then progress on that band. The good part is that going up a band pretty much gurantees you'll be on 25674 after 2 years2

Almost certainly no, sorry.Union official.
CiPD qualified.
Anything I post is solely MY OPINION. It never constitutes legal, financial or collective bargaining advice. I may tell you based on information given how I might approach an employment dispute case, but you should always seek advice from your own Union representative. If you don't have one, get one!0 -

you'll go to 24 071 basic anyway , it may be that you'll need ot have 2 years asa band 3 to get the increment - unless there isa banding arguement that you were all ready doing band 3 duties and should have been regarded sooner0 -
